Gerri Rachins lives and works in Boston and on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Her paintings, drawings, and collages reflect a sustained engagement with the field of physics, exploring themes of matter and energy and the phenomena of perception.
Rachins’ work is included in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Addison Gallery of American Art; the Zillman Art Museum; the Danforth Art Museum; Fidelity Investments; and numerous corporate and private collections throughout the United States.
For over two decades, Rachins served on the faculty of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and taught for more than a decade at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She received her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2001 and her BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art, following earlier study at the New York Studio School.
Her work is represented by Mobilia Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and by The Painting Center in New York. In 2025, she presented her fourth solo exhibition at The Painting Center, Getting From One Place to Another: Recent Paintings by Gerri Rachins. In 2026, the Zillman Art Museum at the University of Maine will present a solo exhibition titled Gerri Rachins: Selected Works On Paper From 2008 to 2025.
